About Us & the Committee

About Us

The Seniors section at Looe Golf Club is well established, and has over 50 paid-up members. Our section is open to all paid up male members of Looe Golf Club aged 55 and over.

The primary objective is to offer members an enjoyable mix of competition and fun golf in within a friendly and sociable environment - indeed fun and banter is very much an important part of the weekly get-togethers.

Most Seniors competitions are played off the forward yellow tees. Handicaps are not required before you join as you can play for your handicap in our weekly competitions.

In addition, 22 Inter Club social matches (11 home, 11 away) are played on courses throughout Cornwall & Devon, and a Seniors away-day is arranged to a premier course each year.

During the winter season we continue our golf with a Winter League competition. This is a Turn Up and Play competition, played on a mix of Tuesdays and Thursdays and played off full course handicap. The weather can throw up some real challenges, but that does not stop a very enthusiastic bunch of hardy seniors from enjoying their golf throughout the winter period.

If you would like more information, wish to discuss any aspect of our activities or indeed would like to join, please contact the Seniors Membership Secretary, or just turn up at one of our meetings on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10:00am.
